Seminar and 3rd Transnational meeting from the Erasmus + Project Deaf Intepreting in the EU: starting to spread the news
On the 31st of October the IPC team, represented by Isabel Correia and Amilcar Furtado, attended and participated on the 1st seminar of the Erasmus + Project: Deaf Interpreting in the EU. It was very interesting to share points of view with colleagues from various parts of Europe. We were able to realize the situation of deaf interpreters in several countries and that gave us background to understand better their situation in Portugal.
The meetings were also very productive since we’ve seen the work developed by the partners and we could get very positive feedback from all of them concerning our work in the project.
Because of all of these contributes we are now able to start spreading our reflexions on Deaf interpreters on TV and we will start by giving a class to our students on the matter. The class will be next month and it’s included on a subject form our curriculum: ethics and Interpreting. We will share our reflexion with both hearing and deaf students in order to make them aware of what we consider to be good practices in the interpretation field
